The Bold Type (2017) is an American comedy-drama series you can stream online on iFILM. Three friends — writer Jane, social media director Kat, and fashion assistant Sutton — work at Scarlet, a major women's magazine in New York, and figure out their careers and identities at the same time.

Inspired by the real life of Cosmopolitan editor Joanna Coles, the show ran five seasons on Freeform from 2017 to 2021. Katie Stevens, Aisha Dee and Meghann Fahy play the central trio; Melora Hardin is the editor-in-chief — formidable but not a cartoon villain. The show doesn't pretend the magazine world is trivial: it uses Scarlet as a frame for real topics, including identity, race, sexuality and burnout.
