Synopsis
Small Engine Repair (2021) is a crime drama and slow-burn thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Three working-class friends from high school — Frank, Swaino and Packie — reunite years later at Frank's out-of-the-way repair shop. A storm rolling in keeps them stuck there for the night.
At first it's just drinks, old jokes and grudges that have been simmering for decades. Then Chad shows up — a cocky, well-off frat type — and the evening quietly tips off its axis. It turns out this get-together was never really about nostalgia. Jon Bernthal, Shea Whigham and writer-director John Pollono play men whose loyalty and capacity for violence spring from the same place.
Pollono adapted his own stage play here, handling both the script and the direction. The result is tight and almost theatrical, riding on sharp dialogue and a steadily tightening sense of dread before the final turn lands with a real jolt.
