Better Things Season 2 (2017) is the FX dramedy to watch online on iFILM — ten episodes that find Sam Fox still doing it all: working actor, single parent, the only grown-up in a house full of daughters in Los Angeles.

Where the first season introduced the family, this one digs deeper into it. The girls are visibly older now — Max heading toward graduation, Frankie testing the edges of her teenage years, little Duke still hanging onto childhood. Across the season Sam strikes up a new friendship, gets sick, loses someone close and has to stand up and speak for them, then wrangles a graduation party as if it were a test of her own nerve. The storytelling stays loose and slice-of-life, but the blows land harder than before.

Pamela Adlon, who stars as Sam, directs all ten episodes this time, and her hand is steadier for it. Worth a watch if the first season's wavelength clicked for you: no flashy turns, just an honest take on growing up, aging parents and the kind of tiredness nobody notices.
