Synopsis
Horace and Pete (2016) is Louis C.K.'s stark drama series, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Almost all of it unfolds inside one Brooklyn bar that generations of men named Horace and Pete have run for a hundred years.
Horace (C.K. himself) and his half-brother Pete (Steve Buscemi) keep the place going, inheriting its debts, grudges and a venomous old uncle Pete (Alan Alda) along with the lease. Regulars cluster at the bar, arguing politics, drinking, picking at old wounds. The ten episodes run wildly different lengths and play like filmed theater — long takes, no score, a camera that barely moves.
C.K. released the show with no ads and no promotion, selling each episode straight from his own site — television made well outside the studio machine. Edie Falco, Jessica Lange, Laurie Metcalf and Steven Wright fill out the room. It's a heavy, talky thing about guilt, family and decline; not an easy night, but few shows sound this unguarded. Stream every episode of Horace and Pete online on iFILM.
