Her mother walked out long ago, there's no father in the picture, and turning tricks is the only way she can cover rent and stay afloat. Molly lives two lives that can never meet. The fragile balance shatters when a necrophiliac killer starts hunting the streetwalkers of Los Angeles: her friend Lana turns up dead, and Molly realizes she may be next on his list. Helping her piece it together is police lieutenant Andrews, the one adult who sees a kid in trouble rather than a commodity.

The film became a notable piece of 1980s street-level exploitation cinema and built a cult following, spawning two sequels. The tagline said it flat out: honor student by day, boulevard hooker by night.
