Melinda is the quiet one — always clocking in, always invisible next to her outgoing colleague Sheila. When Billy shows up with a gun and a desperate need for cash, Sheila tries to talk him down while Melinda calculates. What Melinda wants isn't money, and it isn't necessarily anyone's safety. Three people, one locked-down building and a situation that keeps twisting in directions none of them planned.

Cobham-Hervey is the reason to watch this. Her Melinda is unsettling precisely because she stays so still — a character whose loneliness has curdled into something with teeth. At 88 minutes it's tight, claustrophobic and doesn't waste time on backstory. Stream Burn (2019) online on iFILM.
