Synopsis
V Wars (2019) is a watch-online sci-fi series on iFILM starring Ian Somerhalder, streaming on Netflix. The show is adapted from Jonathan Maberry's comic anthology of the same name.
A pathogen locked in the Arctic ice begins surfacing after a thaw, and it doesn't affect everyone the same way. In some people it triggers a dormant sequence in their DNA — turning them into something faster, stronger and very hungry. Dr. Luther Swann is a virologist watching the outbreak unfold. His best friend Michael was exposed on the same expedition and is now leading the infected, who call themselves Bloods and have no interest in being studied or quarantined.
What separates V Wars from a standard vampire procedural is the speed with which the social fabric tears. Swann isn't fighting monsters — he's watching a close friend become the face of a movement, while governments and media carve the world into threat and non-threat.
