Synopsis
I Want to Eat Your Pancreas (君の膵臓をたべたい, 2018) is a Japanese anime drama from Aniplex and ABC Animation you can watch online on iFILM. Director Shinichiro Ushijima adapted Yoru Sumino's bestselling light novel: a withdrawn high schooler named Haruki accidentally reads the secret diary of his classmate Sakura Yamauchi and discovers she has a terminal illness.
Sakura is everything Haruki is not — outgoing, spontaneous, alive to every moment. She pulls him into her remaining days not out of pity, but because she chooses him. Voice performances by Mahiro Takasugi and Lynn carry a story where a walk to a café or a throwaway line lands with far more weight than either character lets on. The film ran for 109 minutes and grossed over 3.3 billion yen in Japan, based on a novel that sold more than three million copies.
