Synopsis
Le Secret (2000) is Virginie Wagon's debut drama, available to watch online on iFILM. Marie has been married for twelve years, raises a small son, and sells encyclopedias door to door. Her life is settled — and quietly airless.
A chance meeting with an American named Bill (Tony Todd) cracks that routine open. He irritates her at first; soon she can't stay away. The affair pulls Marie somewhere she no longer recognizes herself — coming home with another man's marks on her skin, bathing her child, unable to fold her two lives into one. Anne Coesens plays the slide into obsession without melodrama, almost matter-of-factly.
