Synopsis

A sadistic serial killer known as "Mr. Shiny" went quiet years ago — unsolved, unresolved. Then detectives are pulled into a new run of murders bearing his exact signature. Only the crimes won't stay inside police-procedural logic: something ancient and non-human is threaded through them. Ortiz cross-wires the detective format with Lovecraftian cosmic horror, and the film's tagline says what the opening won't. He wasn't hiding. He was waiting.
