Synopsis

God comes back from vacation, sees the mess humankind has made, and decides to wipe the slate and start over. His angels beg for a reprieve, so the fate of the planet rides on two random people. Zack is a broke, hopeless inventor who decides to rob a bank. Debbie is the teller who pockets the loot for herself. Neither has the faintest gift for crime. The only way they can prove the human race is worth saving is by falling for each other.
Charles Durning and Oliver Reed round out the cast as bickering, oddly likable heavenly emissaries. It's a breezy slice of early-eighties cinema, complete with a Newton-John pop soundtrack and a sincere belief that love can fix the world. A gentle, undemanding pick for a quiet night.
