Synopsis
The Love That Remains (Ástin sem eftir er, 2025) is an Icelandic drama you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Hlynur Pálmason, this Iceland-France-Sweden-Denmark co-production runs 109 minutes and follows a family through the full arc of a year as the parents' relationship quietly falls apart.
Anna and Magnús are separating. The calendar turns — autumn light, winter silence, a spring that does not fix things. Their children watch. Some days are almost ordinary. Others are not. Pálmason shoots the breakup without fights or monologues; it lives in glances, misplaced laughter, and the meals nobody quite finishes. Saga Garðarsdóttir and Sverrir Gudnason carry the film on very little dialogue.
