About

Synopsis

Copenhagen (2014) is an American-Danish coming-of-age drama directed by Mark Raso — watch it online on iFILM. William, a self-absorbed American drifter, arrives in Copenhagen chasing the last address he has for his grandfather. He arrives unprepared, speaks no Danish, and would have given up on day one if not for Effy — a young hotel intern with an unsettling habit of saying exactly what she means.

She agrees to help him navigate the city's back streets and older neighbourhoods. The search turns personal fast. William has spent years keeping people at arm's length; Effy doesn't let that work. As they get closer to finding his relative, the family story he thought he knew starts to look considerably darker.

Shot entirely on location in Copenhagen, Raso's feature debut keeps things small and honest — no crowd-pleasing twists, just two people talking their way through an uncomfortable few days. Gethin Anthony and Frederikke Dahl Hansen carry it well. Stream Copenhagen (2014) online on iFILM.
