Season 1
Not every dream has a perfect ending.
Synopsis
Love & Death (2023), Season 1 streams online on iFILM — a seven-episode crime drama drawn from a real 1980 case in small-town Texas. Two women who sing in the same church choir, two settled marriages, and an affair that ends with an axe.
Candy Montgomery (Elizabeth Olsen) is the one who proposes it. She tells Allan Gore (Jesse Plemons) they can do this with rules and no feelings attached. The rules last right up until the feelings arrive. The season takes its time, moving from those first careful meetings toward the June afternoon when Betty stops answering the phone, then pivots into interrogations, defense attorney Don Crowder, and a courtroom. Olsen plays the friendly homemaker whose smile gives nothing away.
The miniseries comes from David E. Kelley, who made Big Little Lies, for HBO Max. Seven episodes that work less through pace than through the creeping discomfort of ordinary life carrying on after something irreversible. Watch Love & Death Season 1 online on iFILM.
