Synopsis

The early episodes move hour by hour, day by day: the storm hits, the streets fill, the backup generators die, the heat climbs past a hundred, and patients on machines have nothing left to run them. The staff at Memorial hold on as long as they can while the evacuation stalls and help never arrives. Then the season turns hard. Forty-five bodies are found inside the building once the water drops, and investigators Schafer and Rider start asking what the caregivers actually decided in the hours when there was barely a choice left.
Adapted from Sheri Fink's nonfiction book for Apple TV+, the show refuses to sort its people into heroes and villains — it sits with how impossible decisions get made.
