Everybody's Talking About Jamie

Everybody's Talking About Jamie (2021) is the feel-good musical drama you can watch online on iFILM. Jamie New is sixteen, growing up in working-class Sheffield, and he flatly refuses to match anyone's idea of a "normal" lad. While his classmates pick trades and factory jobs, Jamie wants one thing only — to step onstage as a drag queen.

He has his mum (Sarah Lancashire) in his corner, raising him alone and believing in him without conditions. Around him are his loyal best friend Pritti and Hugo (Richard E. Grant), a former drag performer who runs the local costume shop and becomes Jamie's guide into the scene. Ahead lie the school prom, the bullies, a father who won't accept his son, and that terrifying first time in front of a crowd. Between the songs, the film says something plain: you have the right to be yourself out loud.

Director Jonathan Butterell adapted it from his own hit West End stage musical, which itself grew out of the true story of an English teenager.
