Season 2
Born to folk!
Synopsis
Watch Flight of the Conchords Season 2 online on iFILM — ten episodes from 2009 that wrap up the daft musical comedy about two New Zealand folk musicians stranded in New York. Bret and Jemaine are as broke as ever, only now the trouble piles up faster.
The season opens with the pair firing their manager Murray, then almost instantly regretting it. From there small things spiral: a new tea cup nearly bankrupts the flat, Jemaine takes on a string of increasingly absurd side jobs to cover the gap, and his fling with an Australian woman irritates Bret and upends the band's routine. There's a meeting arranged for the New Zealand prime minister, a one-building "New Zealand Town," a rivalry over the same woman, and a shared addiction to hair gel. By the finale the two can't make rent and get evicted outright.
The songs still interrupt every other scene and the awkward silences still hang, but the stories run meaner and stranger than the first year's. These are the last ten episodes Bret McKenzie and Jemaine Clement made — and anyone who fell for their dry humour should see the duo out. Stream Flight of the Conchords Season 2 online on iFILM.
