Synopsis

Benji (2018) is a Netflix family adventure you can watch online on iFILM. Director Brandon Camp revives the stray-dog character his father Joe Camp created in 1974, setting the new story in New Orleans. Two school kids, Carter (Gabriel Bateman) and Frankie (Darby Camp), start feeding a scruffy orphaned puppy on their block and quietly become attached to him.

When the two children are snatched by a pair of small-time robbers (Will Rothhaar and Angus Sampson) who are clearly in over their heads, Benji is the only one who knows where they went. A good stretch of the film plays from the dog's perspective — alleys, suspicious shoes, tracking a scent — which turns out to be a smart choice. It holds attention without talking down to the audience.

For family viewing with younger kids, it delivers exactly what it sets out to: real stakes, no gore, and a dog that acts with genuine screen presence. Stream Benji (2018) online on iFILM.
