Greener Grass

Greener Grass (2019) is an absurdist comedy you can watch online on iFILM. It unfolds in a glossy suburb where the soccer moms wear braces on already-perfect teeth, drive golf carts everywhere and compete over everything — lawns, husbands, children.

When Jill politely hands her newborn over to her neighbor Lisa, nobody bats an eye, and from there the logic only melts further. A son turns into a golden retriever, a body floats in a backyard pool, and the smiles grow tighter by the scene. Jocelyn DeBoer and Dawn Luebbe play the two rival friends themselves, with D'Arcy Carden, Beck Bennett and Mary Holland filling out the candy-colored cul-de-sac.

That same pair wrote and directed it, expanding their short film into a feature-length jab at suburban conformity and plastic contentment.
