Synopsis
"An Affair of Love" (Une liaison pornographique, 1999) is a Belgian-French drama directed by Frédéric Fonteyne, available to watch online on iFILM. Two strangers — Nathalie Baye and Sergi López — connect through a personal ad to fulfill a specific sexual fantasy. That is the arrangement, and nothing more.
Fonteyne never shows what happens in the hotel room. The camera cuts away every time. Instead the film is built from separate retrospective interviews: each person alone, looking back, remembering differently. What assembles piece by piece is how two adults who agreed to feel nothing gradually discover they cannot hold to that agreement. At 80 minutes the film is precise and unhurried, which makes every unspoken moment land harder than it should.
