Magi (Seasons 1–2)
Synopsis
Magi (2012) is a Japanese anime series from A-1 Pictures, available to watch online on iFILM. Based on Shinobu Ohtaka's manga, it drops viewers into a world shaped by One Thousand and One Nights: across the land stand towering labyrinths packed with treasure and magical relics, and anyone who makes it out alive earns wealth and renown.
Aladdin has spent most of his life locked inside a temple with only a flute for company — a flute that happens to house a djinn named Ugo. Once free, he falls in with Ali Baba, a young man with one eye on a dungeon conquest, and Morgiana, whose past has left her far more dangerous than she looks. The voice cast includes Kaori Ishihara, Yuki Kaji, and Ryohei Kimura, and the three leads carry genuine warmth across fifty episodes spread over two seasons.
The show starts breezy and adventure-forward, aimed squarely at a younger audience — then quietly expands into questions about power, slavery, and who gets to shape the world. That tonal shift is what elevates it past standard fantasy fare. Stream Magi online on iFILM.
