Synopsis
The Tick (2001), Season 1 is a superhero spoof you can watch online on iFILM — nine episodes that drop a big blue muscleman into the City, where he recruits anxious accountant Arthur as his sidekick.
The fun is in the misfits. The Tick can't remember where he came from and goes hunting for an identity. Arthur keeps trying to square a costume with normal life until his mother and sister hire a deprogrammer to talk him out of heroics. Captain Liberty sues the all-male League of Superheroes for shutting her out. Villains match the mood too: a cold-war Soviet robot built to kill Jimmy Carter, and a bedridden archvillain who happens to be 112.
