Synopsis
The Tick (2001) is a US superhero comedy you can watch online on iFILM. A big blue muscle-bound goofball in a skintight suit guards the city, fumbles his own battle cries, and genuinely cannot grasp why the bad guys won't just give up.
Patrick Warburton is the Tick, and his deadpan baritone carries every joke. Trailing him is Arthur, a former accountant stuffed into a ridiculous moth costume, plus a ragtag bench of would-be champions: the preening Batmanuel and the gung-ho Captain Liberty. The whole bit rests on one question — what if superheroes were real but completely absurd?
It springs from Ben Edlund's cult comic, the same source as the beloved nineties cartoon. This live-action run barely lasted, just nine episodes on Fox before the plug got pulled, yet fans still quote it line for line.
