Synopsis

Saekano: How to Raise a Boring Girlfriend (2015), Season 2 — watch online on iFILM. The second run of this Japanese romcom about doujin game devs landed in 2017 across 11 episodes. The Blessing Software circle already exists; now comes the brutal part — actually finishing the game.

Utaha's script reads beautifully as a novel and falls apart as a game, so Tomoya rewrites it against the clock. Eriri buries herself in art, burns out, and collapses with a fever on the home stretch. This season trades gags for the grind: endless revisions, sleepless nights, jealousy inside the team, and the rival outfit Rouge en Rouge breathing down their necks. And Megumi — the "boring" heroine — quietly turns into the one person holding it all together. By the closing episodes a rift hangs over the circle that the first season never came near.

A-1 Pictures animates again, adapting Fumiaki Maruto's light novels. Season 2 plays noticeably heavier than the first and finally gives Kato a real personality. Worth it for anyone who stayed for the characters rather than the jokes. Stream Saekano Season 2 online on iFILM.
