Season 1
Some powers are higher than others.
Synopsis
Highway to Heaven (1984), Season 1 is the family drama you can watch online on iFILM — 25 episodes that open the road for a probationary angel and the ex-cop riding shotgun beside him.
Drifter Jonathan Smith signs on as a handyman at a nursing home, then quietly admits to Mark Gordon what he really is: an angel on assignment. After that the two keep moving. They sit with a boy dying of leukemia, with a ballplayer whose pro dream ends in a road accident, with an illiterate basketball star losing his scholarship, with a Vietnam vet welcoming the daughter he left overseas. Each town is its own self-contained story. Jonathan rarely fixes anything outright — he nudges people toward the harder, kinder choice and moves on.
Michael Landon created the show and plays the lead, with Victor French as Mark. Plot continuity matters less here than the anthology rhythm; this first season works best as gentle, old-fashioned parables about decency that never quite tip into preaching.
