Dual

Dual (2022) is a sci-fi dark comedy you can watch online on iFILM, written and directed by Riley Stearns. Karen Gillan plays Sarah, who — after a terminal diagnosis — commissions a clone of herself to ease the grief of her loved ones. The plan is logical. The result is a disaster.

She recovers. The clone, however, has already moved in on her life: her ex prefers the double, her mother has grown attached, and the law sides with neither of them — except to mandate a televised duel to the death one year away. Aaron Paul plays the dry, detached combat trainer tasked with turning Sarah into someone capable of killing herself. That sentence is the whole film in miniature.
