Synopsis
The Last Manhunt (2022) is a Western crime drama you can watch online on iFILM. Actor Christian Camargo steps behind the camera for the first time to retell a chase that swept across the California desert in the autumn of 1909.
Young Willie Boy loves a girl named Carlota, but her father, an elder of their tribe, forbids the match. A heated confrontation ends in gunfire, the older man dies, and it was never meant to happen that way. With nowhere else to turn, the couple flee into the blistering Mojave. A sheriff's posse and two seasoned Native trackers fan out behind them, while the newspapers inflate the story into a frenzy because President Taft happens to be touring the region just then.
Jason Momoa co-wrote and produced the film and takes a supporting role, alongside Zahn McClarnon and Oscar nominee Lily Gladstone. It's a quiet, aching look at an old injustice told from the Native point of view rather than the lawmen's. Stream The Last Manhunt online on iFILM.
