Synopsis
Metro (Метро, 2013) is a Russian disaster thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Construction work in central Moscow cracks an aging tunnel wall, the Moscow River rushes in, and a packed commuter train is sealed underground between two stations. Director Anton Megerdichev shot the flooding sequences with real actors in real water — 130 minutes of escalating pressure, collapsing passages and limited air.
Among the stranded passengers: surgeon Andrey Garin (Sergei Puskepalis) and his daughter Ksyusha. Also on the train is Vlad (Anatoly Beliy), the businessman currently sleeping with Garin's wife. In ordinary life these two men would never acknowledge each other. Knee-deep in rising water, they have no option but to cooperate.
The film doesn't reach for subtext — it's a straight action survival picture, and a competent one. Russian-language audiences looking for a large-scale home-grown thriller will find solid craftsmanship here. Stream Metro (2013) online on iFILM.
