In the near future, XChange Corporation has turned long-distance travel into a mind-transfer procedure: swap your consciousness into a body at the destination, handle your business, swap back. New York PR man Toffler tries the system for the first time under pressure and returns to XChange headquarters with a grim discovery — he's traded identities with Fisk, a violent criminal who just pulled off a high-profile killing and has no intention of giving back someone else's face. Toffler is now running out of time in a clone body rated for 48 hours. The script takes its premise more seriously than the budget might lead you to expect, working through the corporate, legal, and personal implications of mind-swapping with enough consistency that the thriller mechanics hold up.
