Synopsis
Werewolves Within (2021) is Josh Ruben's horror-comedy, free to watch online on iFILM. Mild-mannered forest ranger Finn rolls into the snowed-in town of Beaverfield, where the locals are an oddball bunch and tempers are already running hot over a pipeline somebody wants to push through the wilderness.
A blizzard cuts Beaverfield off from the world, someone sabotages the generators, and the whole bickering lot ends up stranded together in an old lodge. Then the first body turns up. It doesn't take long for the group to realize there's a werewolf hiding among them, and they'd better figure out who before it picks them off one by one. Sam Richardson plays Finn with disarming awkwardness, Milana Vayntrub is sharp as mail carrier Cecily, and the two of them carry the movie.
It's adapted from the Ubisoft VR game, though you don't need to know the source to enjoy it as a cozy whodunnit with teeth. Gore, gags, and small-town paranoia arrive in roughly equal measure. Great fun for fans of Tucker and Dale vs. Evil and anyone who likes horror that laughs at itself. Stream Werewolves Within (2021) online on iFILM.
