Synopsis

Bar owner and surfer Fin watches the storm surge push walls of seawater through Santa Monica, full of very motivated great whites. Then the tornadoes hit, and the sharks go airborne. Fin grabs his friends Baz and Nova and drives a truck through the flooding city to reach his estranged wife April and their teenage daughter. Ian Ziering and Tara Reid play it completely straight, which is exactly what the film needs.
Five sequels followed, along with an avalanche of parody coverage and a permanent spot in pop-culture history as the gold standard of self-aware B-movies.
