Synopsis
The Loudest Voice (2019) is the Showtime drama miniseries you can watch online on iFILM. Buried under prosthetics, Russell Crowe plays Roger Ailes, the man who dreamed up Fox News.
Seven episodes trace how a producer with an uncanny instinct for television built the channel that reshaped American politics, and how that same power eventually destroyed him. Each installment hangs on a pivotal year, from the 1996 launch of Fox News to the harassment scandal that ended his career. Naomi Watts plays anchor Gretchen Carlson, whose lawsuit cracked the whole thing open, with Sienna Miller as Ailes's wife and a surprisingly dramatic Seth MacFarlane in support.
It's drawn from journalist Gabriel Sherman's book. Crowe all but disappears into the role and carries the series on his back: his Ailes is charming, paranoid and frightening at once. The show is really about how one man learned to speak to a country louder than anyone else — and who pays the bill for it. Stream every episode of The Loudest Voice online on iFILM.
