The Club (Season 1)

The Club (El Club, 2019) is a Mexican crime dramedy you can watch online on iFILM. At its center is Pablo (Alejandro Speitzer), a young man from a well-off family who's crushed under his father's expectations and desperate to become someone on his own terms. His answer is a bad one: he launches a risky, off-the-books venture in the city's nightlife.

For a while it plays like easy money and a glossy good time. The deeper Pablo and his crew sink into the operation, though, the steeper the cost of every move becomes — the highs give way to debts, betrayals and losses there's no undoing. Directors Camila Ibarra, Raúl Caballero and Agustín Ortiz keep swinging between light comedy and sudden drops into tragedy.
