Thunderbirds (Seasons 1–2)

Thunderbirds (1965) is the classic British marionette series you can watch online on iFILM. Set in the 21st century, it follows International Rescue, a secret outfit that saves people from disasters no one else can reach.

Behind the missions is the Tracy family: former astronaut Jeff and his five sons, working from a hidden base on a Pacific island. Each pilots a craft from the rescue fleet, from the rocket-plane Thunderbird 1 to a giant carrier and a submarine. The show was made in "Supermarionation" — puppets on fine wires combined with intricately built model vehicles, launches and explosions. Voices were pre-recorded and the puppets' lips synced electronically, remarkable for 1965.

Created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, it became the peak of British puppet television and spawned films, reboots and a global fan following. Generations still know the call "Thunderbirds are Go!"
