Shadow Dancer

Belfast, early 1990s. Collette McVeigh is a single mother from a family with deep ties to the IRA. Arrested in London after an aborted bombing run, she's given two options by MI5 handler Mac: a long prison sentence or feed information back from inside. She chooses her son. What follows is a study in impossible loyalty — Collette reporting enough to keep Mac satisfied, the IRA growing suspicious, and Mac himself beginning to question what his handlers are actually doing with what she gives them. Marsh strips out gunfights and chases; the suspense here is administrative and intimate, built on silences, glances and the specific dread of a phone call that comes too early.
