Synopsis
Hardwired (2009) is a sci-fi action thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Ernie Barbarash. A car crash leaves Luke Gibson with no memory, so the Hexx Corporation drops a Psi-Comp implant into his brain to save him. The fix has a catch.
The chip does more than heal. It rewrites what Luke thinks and feeds ads straight into his skull, turning a man into a remote-controlled customer. Once he works out who rebuilt his mind and why, he turns on the people who claimed to save him. Cuba Gooding Jr. and Val Kilmer headline, with Michael Ironside and Lance Henriksen lurking in the corporate machine — and a pre-fame Tatiana Maslany in an early role.
This Canadian-American picture runs on a very current fear: brain chips, ad-fed minds, a company that owns your thoughts. It is lean, blunt B-grade cyberpunk, no philosophy lectures attached — good fun if you like your sci-fi loud and uncomplicated. Stream Hardwired (2009) online on iFILM.
