Noa is done with dating apps. The men are either boring, rude, or both. Then she meets Steve in the produce aisle — easy to talk to, a little awkward, genuinely funny. Their first date goes well. A weekend trip together feels like the obvious next move. What happens after she arrives is not something the film's marketing wanted to give away, and neither does this description.

The script by Lauryn Kahn runs as a romantic comedy for its first act, and that tonal bait-and-switch is entirely deliberate. Edgar-Jones carries every scene she's in; Stan is most unsettling precisely because his character feels so plausible before the mask drops. Best watched without reading too much about it first.
