Synopsis
Season 5 of Are You Being Served? (1972) is ready to watch online on iFILM — seven episodes of the British sitcom about life inside London's Grace Brothers department store. The year is 1977, and the manners behind the counter haven't budged.
This run shakes up the routine more than usual. Mrs. Slocombe announces a happy event and the floor panics, until it emerges that her cat is the one expecting kittens. Mr. Grace reshuffles the departments, and the work turns oddly enjoyable for whoever lands in toys. The staff mark the founder's eightieth birthday with a spoof of This Is Your Life. Young Mr. Grace comes back from America armed with brisk new sales techniques. The back half raises the stakes: the team fends off a hostile takeover by posing as shareholders, and weighs the fate of short-tempered Mr. Grainger, before a lottery ticket changes everything.
Same farce of class, manners and relentless double entendres, played by the same faces — Humphries, Slocombe, Peacock, the stingy Mr. Grace. The fifth season is a touch bolder in plotting without losing the earlier spirit. Stream Are You Being Served? Season 5 online on iFILM.
