Synopsis
Big Ass Spider! (2013) is an American sci-fi creature feature you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Mike Mendez. A spider mutated by military-grade radiation escapes a Los Angeles hospital, grows to building-swallowing size, and starts tearing through the city.
The people tasked with stopping it are not soldiers. It is Alex, a cheerful exterminator played by Greg Grunberg, and his security-guard sidekick played by Lombardo Boyar. Ray Wise shows up as a military commander who mostly gets in the way. The spider can turn nearly invisible thanks to ramped-up camouflage abilities, which gives the low-budget effects crew a convenient out — and the film embraces its own absurdity rather than pretending otherwise.
