Synopsis
Reverie (2018) is an American sci-fi drama series you can watch online on iFILM. A tech company launches an advanced virtual reality platform and almost immediately runs into a problem: some users enter their personal dream worlds and don't come back. Their bodies deteriorate while they remain inside.
Former hostage negotiator and behavioral expert Mara — played by Sarah Shahi — is hired to go in herself and find a way to reach each person. Dennis Haysbert plays her handler, Kathryn Morris the program's creator, Sendhil Ramamurthy a fellow operative. Jaume Collet-Serra directed the pilot. What the show gets right is that every virtual world is built from loss — from whatever the user can't let go of — which means every rescue is really a conversation about grief.
