Synopsis
Sound of My Voice (2011) is an indie sci-fi thriller directed by Zal Batmanglij that you can watch online on iFILM. Peter and Lorna infiltrate a Los Angeles-area cult posing as new members, planning to shoot an exposé — but the woman running it, Maggie, claims she arrived from the future.
Brit Marling plays Maggie with an eerie, low-key certainty that is harder to dismiss than any theatrical prophecy. Christopher Denham plays Peter, whose skepticism starts quietly cracking long before he admits it. Nicole Vicius rounds out the three-way push-and-pull at the center.
Batmanglij and Marling co-wrote the script together and shot it in 11 days on a micro-budget. The film's real trick is that it refuses to settle the question it raises — and at 85 minutes, that ambiguity never overstays its welcome. Stream Sound of My Voice online on iFILM.
