Synopsis

Emmerdale (1972), Season 23 is the long-running Yorkshire soap you can watch online on iFILM — 105 episodes covering one full year, 1994, in the village of Beckindale.

It opens in wreckage. A plane has come down on the village, nine are dead, the bridge is out, and the gutter press is already circling. The first weeks are funerals, compensation rows and families pulling their shutters down. Then the year rolls on. Jack and Sarah marry and bring home baby Victoria; Chris Tate faces a hard diagnosis; talk of a "Beast of Beckindale" spreads across the dales. Eric Pollard schemes his way toward a robbery, Seth and Betty find an unlikely late romance, and the Dingle feud closes in on young Luke.

Made by Yorkshire Television, this is one of the show's pivotal stretches — a disaster that reshapes the village for good. What it does best is let grief and gossip sit side by side at the same bar. Stream Emmerdale Season 23 online on iFILM.
