Chappie

Chappie (2015) is a sci-fi action film directed by Neill Blomkamp that you can watch online on iFILM. Set in a near-future Johannesburg where police deploy robotic drones, it follows the world's first machine to develop genuine consciousness — played in motion-capture by Sharlto Copley alongside Hugh Jackman, Dev Patel, and Sigourney Weaver.

When drone unit Chappie is stolen and illegally reprogrammed, he ends up in the custody of a street gang — Die Antwoord members Ninja and Yolandi Visser playing versions of themselves. Chappie learns like a child: picking up slang, drawing pictures, asking why the world is cruel. His creator Dion fights to reclaim him, a corporate rival schemes to scrap the entire drone program, and Chappie is caught between loyalty, survival and figuring out who he actually is.
