Kai Koss left his home town nineteen years ago and never looked back. His mother's death brings him back to the house he grew up in — and to whatever he buried there. Almost immediately, a series of violent killings begins nearby, and Kai finds himself under suspicion. Cecilie A. Mosly and Anders Danielsen Lie round out a cast that keeps the film grounded even as the dread builds. Øie shoots the rural Norwegian setting cold and flat, letting the landscape carry the weight of something being wrong. Less a slasher than a study in inherited damage.
