Synopsis
Strange but True (2019) is a tight domestic thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Rowan Athale. Five years after Ronnie Chase died in a car crash on graduation night, his ex-girlfriend Melissa turns up at the family home with a claim that shouldn't be possible — she says she's carrying his child.
Ronnie's mother, played by Amy Ryan, is not in the mood for miracles. Neither is his younger brother Phil (Nick Robinson), who starts digging into Melissa's story while the family's barely-healed wounds tear back open. Margaret Qualley gives Melissa that unsettling quality of someone who might be telling the complete truth or absolutely none of it. Brian Cox and Blythe Danner round out a cast that keeps the tension domestic and suffocating rather than flashy.
