Synopsis
A Confession (2019) is a six-part British crime drama series you can watch online on iFILM, broadcast on ITV and based on a real case. Martin Freeman plays Detective Superintendent Steve Fulcher; direction by Paul Andrew Williams, screenplay by Jeff Pope.
A young woman goes missing. Fulcher tracks down a suspect and questions him without caution — no rights read, no solicitor present, a deliberate breach of PACE. The killer confesses and leads police to the body. But that breach nearly sank the prosecution and ended Fulcher's career. Imelda Staunton plays the murdered woman's mother, who must watch the legal system trip over procedure while she already knows the truth.
