Synopsis
Something in the Water (2024) is a British shark survival thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Directed by Hayley Easton Street, the film follows five women — brought together for a destination wedding at a tropical resort — whose pre-ceremony boat trip goes badly wrong. Very badly. One capsized vessel, open ocean, no signal.
The shark arrives early and doesn't leave. What keeps the film moving is the friction between the five women: their history, a painful falling-out that the trip was partly meant to repair, and the way extreme fear strips away the politeness holding the group together. Stars Hiftu Quasem, Natalie Mitson, Lauren Lyle and Nicole Rieko work through the panic with enough specificity to make each character distinct rather than just prey.
