Synopsis
500 MPH Storm (2013) is an American sci-fi disaster film you can watch online on iFILM. An experiment with a new energy source goes wrong, and one giant hurricane after another erupts across North America. High-school science teacher Brent grabs his family and runs while there's still somewhere left to run.
The catch: the storms are converging on a single point. Merge them and you get a "hypercane" — a system violent enough to scrub the United States off the map entirely. Brent (Casper Van Dien) works out the physics of the catastrophe on the fly while trying to get his loved ones to shelter before the fronts collapse into one.
This is a film from The Asylum, the studio behind Sharknado: budget effects, a lean plot, all bet on pure spectacle. No real science to speak of, but exactly what you'd want from a late-night end-of-the-world B-movie. It lands for fans of cheerfully silly disaster flicks to keep on in the background.
