Authentik

Authentik (Suprêmes, 2021) is Audrey Estrougo's music drama, and you can watch online on iFILM. It's the origin story of Suprême NTM — how two kids from the Paris projects in the late 1980s built a rap duo and turned the fury of the suburbs into songs the whole country couldn't ignore.

JoeyStarr and Kool Shen, played by Sandor Funtek and Théo Christine, grow up among concrete towers, police sweeps and teenage boredom. Graffiti, breakdancing, scrappy courtyard battles — then a microphone that suddenly hands them a voice. The film runs on raw street energy and doesn't tidy anything up: clashes with cops, friction inside the duo itself, and the price you pay for saying what you mean out loud.
