Synopsis

What caused the rift comes out slowly. The writers keep hopping across decades, from a 1975 double date to Tully's 2004 search for the father she never knew, and they make you wait for it. Tully pays for a choice she made on her worst night; Kate, for the first time in her life, spends a full year without her best friend beside her. Older threads ripen alongside — Johnny, Kate's brother Sean and his long-held secret, daughter Marah, a sharp-tongued grandmother. Then, late in the run, a piece of news arrives that reweighs every old grudge.
